The GD5K is a fun fitness event promoting the College Game Day ritual of Tailgating. Participants are encouraged to come dressed in support of their favorite college team. All proceeds from this fundraising event will be gifted away in the form of academic college scholarships. This event is fully sanctioned by the Manasota Track Club and will have all their mandatory levels of excellence.

The 41st Annual Sandy Claws Beach Run 5K and 1-Mile Fun Run takes place on Saturday, Dec. 9 on beautiful Siesta Beach, #1 beach in the USA! Set a fast pace on the hard-packed world-renowned white quartz sands or enjoy a leisurely stroll along the shore. This race, co-sponsored by Sarasota County Parks, Recreation and Natural Resources and Dr. Heidi K. Anderson-DOCS, is sanctioned by the Manasota Track Club and chip-timed. Participants receive a custom finisher medal. Enjoy the post-race party with music, holiday-themed costume contest, raffle prizes, holiday photo op and food and beverages. Early packet pickup party, hosted by New Balance Sarasota, 1872 Stickney Point Road, is Thursday, Dec. 7 from 3-6 p.m.

The 15th Annual Sarasota YMCA Ringling Bridge Run presented by CenterState Bank is Sarasota’s premiere 4 mile road race including a 1 Mile Fun Run/Walk. All proceeds benefit the Sarasota YMCA’s programs supporting youth and families at the Frank G. Berlin, Sr. Branch.
The inspiring trek over the iconic Ringling Bridge has been a welcome challenge for runners, joggers and walkers of all ages and abilities bringing together friends, families and community. Start time for the 4 Mile Run/Walk is at 7:30am and the 1 Mile Fun Run/Walk begins at 8:30am. Arrive early to avoid traffic and stay late to enjoy our fun, post-race family festival.

Join us for 9th Annual Take Stock in Children 5K/10K and 1 Mile Mentor Walk or Kids’ Fun races Sunday March 4th at 8:00 am (Kid’s event at 7:15 am) This is one of the largest 5K/10K fields in the county. The event benefits Take Stock in Children of Manatee County, Inc. celebrating over 20 years of scholarships, mentors and hope!
There will be chip timing by the Lakeshore Athletic Services providers for the Chicago Marathon, Colorful moisture wicking shirts, awards, plenty of food and beverages by local resturants and family fun.
Both 5K and 10K routes are well marked with one water stop for the 5K and three stops for the 10K. The 5K proceeds on the north bound lane of LWR Blvd up to Balmoral and back to the finish. The 10K continues into the beautiful landscapes of the Country Club (Great News! you do not have to stop at the gate and show ID this time) The 10K then proceeds thorugh the Country Club and exits on Legacy and University. Then proceeds west on the wide sidewalk up to LWR Boulevard and north to the finish on LWR Main Street.
You will then be treated to a huge after party with over 40 vendors on LWR Main street and best of all, all included in your registration.

Event details and schedule
Day of registration and packet pickup commences at 6:00 am. There is plenty of parking in the north and south parking lots behind LWR Main street. There will be a parcel drop by the registration tables. (we will not be responsible for personal belongings).
Packet pick-up will begin on Sunday, February 24th and continue through Friday, March 2nd at the Fit2Run store in University Town Center during store hours. Day-of registration and packet pick-up will begin at 6AM.
